Hi there! We just got back from our weekend at the Lake...We had a fabulous time. In the morning, we relaxed in the shade at the lake’s edge and read. We then took the canoe out for a short ride...we saw a large moose eating lake grass in a shallow stream that empties into the lake. Upon our return, our neighbors showed up and invited us to go waterskiing, so we gave it a try. We were simply famished when we finally returned to our lake-side cabin, so we put together a picnic and laid out a blanket in the front yard. We enjoyed the best wine with lunch...a simple, fresh, fruity, dry white made from a blend of 3 varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Riesling. It is hand-crafted from great Santa Ynez Valley vineyards, by the fine folks at Andrew Murray Vineyards...You know, those Syrah specialists! They have created a new label dedicated to crafting incredible wines from non-Rhone varieties that thrive in the Santa Ynez Valley. Production is quite limited and the wines are only available in their tasting room or online. All of their labels feature us, Stan & Barbara, spending our Days Off together...usually romantic adventures with a bit of nostalgia thrown in as a nod to simpler times when we all worked less and enjoyed life more. So, turn off your cell phones, leave your work and troubles behind, grab that someone special and enjoy your Days Off together!

	2006 RED DRESS Spanish inspired red wine is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and10% Grenache Noir. The aromas and flavors of this lusty red are dominated by bright red berries, tanned leather and spicy-oaky notes. Tastes best while holding your partner close and dancing all night under a starry sky. 25 cases produced $20.00 per bottle*
	40-LOVE Game, Set, Match! This crisp white is crafted from stainless steel fermented Chardonnay from the cool reaches of the Santa Maria Valley. No new oak or buttery Malolactic flavors here…just pure and clean aromas and flavors of green apple, lemon pie, and Asian pear, matched with a crisp, dry, finish. 25 cases produced $20.00 per bottle*
	LAKE DAY This wine is nearly equal parts Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Viognier from great vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Due to its varietal diversity…it tastes remarkably different each time you go back to your glass. At times, the grassy/citrusy qualities of the Sauvignon Blanc shine through, yet sometimes the apricot/floral notes of the Viognier dominate, and then again quite often the racy minerality and acidity of the Riesling come to the forefront. Either way, this is a fun quaffing white that makes every day seem like a Day Off! 250 cases produced $16.00 per bottle*
	—SOLD OUT!— 2005 APRÉS SKI This lusty red is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon…sort of a Left Brain version of a classic Right Bank wine. The rich fruit-forward aromas and flavors of this wine truly transcend its Santa Ynez Valley origins. Merlot tends to ripen earlier than the rest of the great Bordeaux varieties…so it is very well suited to the relatively cool climates of the Central Coast. The Cabernet was added to lend richer color and a broader tannic structure. The wine was aged for 2 years in a singular new French Oak barrel. Though quite drinkable (if you like big reds), this should age gracefully for 3-5 years. 25 cases produced $30.00 per bottle*
	2005 SWEET NOTHINGS This golden hued beauty comes from botrytised, select late-harvest Riesling grapes. The grapes were dehydrated and very affected by the Noble Rot, so it took nearly all day to squeeze out enough juice with which to make a small amount of dessert wine. Sweet Nothings is not as sweet as your typical dessert wine, rather we let fermentation run its natural course a bit longer and tried to achieve a greater balance of alcohol, acidity, and residual sugar. The honey, floral, nutty and citrus notes of this wine make it a natural pairing for a cheese course or lighter desserts like apple pie or a pear tart. Limited production $18.00 per 375 mL bottle*

The Days Off wines are hand-crafted and limited production wines with beautifully illustrated labels...true works of art. As such, they are available exclusively in the AMV tasting room in Los Olivos. We have decided to make it a bit easier for our Andrew Murray Vineyards Wine Club members to gain access to these rarities by offering to ship a new Days Off wine in with your Wine Club Wines each quarter.
