We are extremely proud to release the inaugural vintage of our Heritage Collection - small lot Syrah bottlings inspired by Old-World Classics, informed by 30 years of winegrowing experience, and crafted to show off the splendor of our Estate.

We were beyond thrilled when acclaimed wine critics unanimously agreed that these bottles were amongst the best we have ever released. Big dreams, careful farming, tiny yields, unwavering focus, and a relentless pursuit of perfection has yielded these stunning bottles of wine.

What makes these bottles even more special to us is that they were also inspired by our amazing children - Callum and Estelle - with their particular lots echoing and amplifying aspects of their unique personalities. Only 40 cases of each wine were crafted. We sincerely hope that you bring them into your cellars to help mark and celebrate life's most special moments.

Lot C

Variety: 100% Estate Syrah - Clone 383

Style: 100% Whole Cluster Fermentation

Aging: 50% New French Oak for 18 months and 12 months in bottle.

Inspiration: The bold, complex, nuanced, and ageworthy wines of Cornas and Hermitage.

Critical Acclaim

Vinous: 94 Points

The 2018 Syrah Estate Lot C is rich and expansive in feel. Dark blue/purplish fruit, spice, leather, licorice and menthol build in the glass. There is plenty of tannin lurking beneath, so another year or two in bottle is probably a good idea.

Jeb Dunnuck: 93+ Points

All Syrah, the 2018 Syrah Estate Grown Lot C is all clone 383, not destemmed, and brought up in 50% new French oak. Dense purple-hued, with lots of darker fruits, peppery herbs, black olive, and underbrush aromas and flavors, it's medium to full-bodied, has a rich, layered texture, good acidity, and a beautiful finish. It's another singular wine from Murray with loads to love.

Variety: 90% Estate Syrah - Clone 471, 10% Viognier

Style: 100% Destemmed

Aging: 25% New French Oak for 18 months and 12 months in bottle.

Inspiration: The high-toned, fragrant, and delicate wines of Cote-Rotie.

Vinous: 96 Points

The 2018 Syrah Estate Lot E is fabulous. Inky, deep and super-expressive, the Lot E Syrah has so much going on. Dried flowers, herbs, mint, black pepper, sage and lavender are some of the many aromas and flavors that come to life. Readers will find a compelling, arrestingly beautiful Syrah that marries power with finesse.

The 2018 Syrah Estate Grown Lot E also comes from the estate in Santa Ynez and includes a big 10% Viognier, with everything being destemmed and aged 18 months in 25% new French oak. It's a riper, sexier wine, with a rocking bouquet of black raspberries, plums, ground pepper, smoked meat, and new leather. Rich, full-bodied, and beautifully textured on the palate, it has ripe tannins, good freshness and purity, and a great finish. It's going to evolve for at least a decade.
