2021 GRENACHE ESTATE GROWN

On the hillsides of the Curtis Estate above the winery, you will find meticulously farmed rows of Grenache clone 513. This Estate Grown offering demonstrates, without a doubt, the extra hand and groundwork cultivated in the vineyard. We were extremely restrictive of yield to ensure that we could ripen, harvest, ferment, age, and bottle a rich, dark, fruity-yet-spicy Grenache. We employ a mix of sorted/destemmed and full whole cluster fermentation to maximize complexity while encouraging freshness and drinkability. The 2021 Grenache is a super-rich, decadent wine with medium weight tannins and a luxurious mid palate followed by a rather long finish and balanced natural acidity. The aromas and flavors center on ripe strawberries, blood orange, baking spices, cranberry sauce, forest floor, and cherry cola. While this wine will drink well in the near term, it will improve for the next 3-7 years.
