2023 E11EVEN RIESLING

We are excited to share the 2023 vintage of Estate Grown Riesling. This wine comes from some of the oldest vines on the Estate, which was planted un-grafted over 40 years ago. The section of the vineyard is planted to twelve foot rows with minimal canopy management in the old "California sprawl" style. Middle of the night, select harvest, minimial intervention and very cold fermentation in stainless and neutral Burgundy barrels allow the inherant varietal characters to really shine. The tiny clusters of tiny berries yield big flavors of white peach, candied ginger, white flowers, lime zest, tangerine, fresh dough, Asian pear, honeydew melon and unripe strawberries. The mouthfeel is rich, mid-weight, with a long rich finish that is balanced by amazing  natural acidity. Production was tiny for this rare gem.
